Countryside Stewardship Higher Tier (CSHT) to re-open and Capital Grants close to closing

Defra has this week announced that Countryside Stewardship Higher Tier (CSHT) will open for applications in September 2025. The scheme will be invitation only, for those customers who have completed the pre-application process.
Defra has also released an update to say that 50% of the available funding for Capital Grants has now been allocated. It will close this round of funding as soon as the remaining budget is allocated.
Defra will not limit any applications customers want to make to Countryside Stewardship Higher Tier, Capital Grants Plans (species, agroforestry and woodland management plans), Protection and Infrastructure grants or Woodland Tree Health.
