Listed Building Consent
Date posted: 28 September 2016
This project involved working closely with Planning Officers to enable development to improve a listed building and create additional living accommodation within it, and to allow the conversion of adjacent farm buildings into a separate dwelling for another family member. This project contrasted innovative and modern building methods whilst working with the Conservation Officer in agreeing on traditional building materials within the listed building.
We were given consent to convert the former kennel building to a single storey, three bedroom dwelling house. Associated works include the demolition of approximately 32.50m2 at the south-eastern end to form parking spaces, and an extension at the south west corner, amounting to approximately 20m2.
In addition to this consent, we successfully obtained permission to carry out associated building and repair works to the Coach House to improve the residential accommodation and general appearance of the setting, which includes the demolition of approximately 11.69m², which currently links the Coach House to the former kennel building, and the rebuilding of part of the south west corner with local stone to replace the brickwork.
